Sydney $3.8 million unliveable house

Yes, you read that right, a home in Sydney’s suburb of Darlinghurst has sold for $3.8 million and it’s completely uninhabitable.

The 4 bedroom terrace home has been sitting boarded up for some time, with mold on the walls, dirt on the floor, holes in the sky light, unfinished walls and missing bricks. But that didn’t slow down interest, with 53 bids made on the “raw and oversized” home.

Marketed as “grandly scaled and ready to transform, this untouched character terrace is set in one of the area’s best tree-lined streets, moments from Hyde Park and in easy reach of the city’s best attractions”.

Real estate agent, Maclay Longhurst from Bresic Whitney said, “It was completely undeveloped property, and it wasn’t liveable, but it had great scope and potential.”

So, what will the lucky owner do? Well, they plan to develop it and live in the home, so you can expect to see quite a bit of money dropped into the renovation over the coming months and potentially, years.
